Before getting to the valley, I was led by GPS to the hill side, following rough trail. I needed to step on brake to slow down in getting down the trail. With a "boom", I hit the rocks on the trail. There were scratches on the bumper.
So when I returned the car, I expected penalty to be charged. Out of my expectation that the staff asked why I did not report to the Police. He kept reminding me that I needed to report each and every accident. I was really scared as I was in hurry to catch the Shinkansen!
Anyway, with no excuse, I called to the helpdesk who can communicate in English. Then I called the Police but with Japanese only. I asked the staff a faviour to talk to the Police for me. After 15 minutes, a troop of about 6 policemen came and asked all over again and did lots of measurements. It took me about 2 hours staying at the car rental office. Then I hurried to the train station to change my ticket to the next-coming train. It would be in about an hour. That's why I had the time for lunch.

Finally the train back to Hokkaido arrived
I got to 新函館北斗 at around 6:30 but the last train to 大沼公園 Onuma Quasi-National Park has already departed. The staff in train station was really nice. He told me that there was bus going to the direction of Onuma, and used iPad to show me the nearest stop. I called up the house lord of the B&B that I would stay that night that I would be late.
The bus departed at 7:00 and I was the only passenger. When I got off, the houselord came to pick me up, really grateful about his hospitality. It was raining and I needed to walk for 15 minutes if I walked myself.
