Part 2 of My Journey
After saying goodbye to Donna, I took JR to Tomakomai (苫小牧), where I rented a car (driven by myself alone!) to my next stop.
[Side story in the train ride] There was a family engaged the toilet for quite a while, I went after them, before reaching my destination. I thought I should have 8 minutes to go. When I was still in the toilet, I felt the train decelerating. I dashed back to my place and grasped all my stuff to getting off in less than 20 seconds.
JR provided car rental service for their customers. I made a booking and got my car at the their office next to the station (the rightmost white car in the below picture).
It took me less than an hour to reach 支笏湖 Shikotsuko, its 3rd parking slots (the eastern shore of the lake).
There were boat rides for leisure but no one was riding that day.
It is a good place for families to have a stroll and enjoy a picnic. Good weather that day.
The Yamasen Railway Bridge
It was constructed in 1899 and was relocated to its current location in 1924. The structure was the oldest railway bridge in Hokkaido.
It was a little bit cold and there was not many water sport on the water. A young man rowed a floating board but he finally fell into the water. Ha ha!
Autumn flowers and leaves flamed with the blue sky
It's so nice that they piled up fallen leaves to form a heart-shape ring. There was a stand to allow people to take beautiful pictures.
A baked sweet corn - light lunch for me.
There is also hot spring area at the northwest side of the lake but I had no time to visit there. I then drove to the southeast lake shore which was a camping ground.
